Late Summer

I have spent much of my time over the last six or seven weeks in airport lounges and thus aircraft. That explains the lateness of this issue, but in a strange way the experience has been enriching. I have learned to read again.

I have spent much journeying time absorbed in books, magazines, newspapers and aircraft safety cards. I have travelled with William Stafford, Isabel Allende, S T Coleridge and many many more. Each of these has reminded me of the worth of good writing. How time passes far more easily in such company.

Bill Stafford also taught me that to write is not a difficult thing. To write well depends on much practice, love of language and many other things but to write is not a hard thing to do. Fortunately, the poets featured here are well practiced, love language and bless us in the sharing of their work.

I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have.
