I Miss

The tears don’t seem to fall on the outside but inside
there is a river flowing in my heart

Time is passing and still I want you

In the midnight hour I awake to an empty bed

And the silent cries sound against the backdrop of the
unhappiness

I’m not sure if this is how it goes but I know

I know that every part of me weeps for every part of
you

I miss the way your lips caress my skin

I miss the way your hands fill my soul

I miss the way we

I just miss you and me

She Said

We spoke last night
In my heart I was right
But what came through my lips were lies
I said I didn't need you and that I didn't care
When all I wanted was you there

I try to pretend that I'm getting over you
But in my heart lies the truth
I can't take a breath without thinking it was for two

I can't seem to understand why it's so hard
For me to put this in the past
Or why I still love your sorry ass

It was you who chose to leave
It was you that didn't believe
It was you that hurt me
So why can't I forget thee

I often think there is more at work when it comes to you and I
I was once told that we've been going through this for a thousand lifetimes

She wore a dark robe and it was the story that she told
She said that you and I were connected through time
She said that I would never leave you and you would never leave I
She said that our love is one of kind
And that until we figured it out
We would continue to cross time
She said that we were there over and over again
Spread through out space on the wind
She said that you were the one who keeps fighting fate and it was I that you
chose as a mate
But somewhere in a life far in the past you deceived me at last
She said until you make it right we'll be joined by the soul
Love will never let us go

Until Time Ends

We laughed as we reminisced about the past
How we made it through and why it didn’t last

We spoke of how we still lust for each other
How things could have been different for one another

We shared smiles in the wide-open spaces
We said how we wanted to see each other’s faces

We talked about the wonderful sex And that person who hated me…you know your ex

We talked about your fears and scares
You even let me in on the nightmares

You told me that it was a Ms. Goodie two shoes that
you want
I wished you luck

I know you will be ok and we’ll remain friends
Through the thick and through the thin
I’m always here for you although I know you hold it in
But when you need the ear of a friend
I’ll be here to listen in
I only hope it is until time ends

Giving Up

09/23/01

Last night I wondered what I would say or how I would say it

And if I could get these words to come through:

I practiced in front of the mirror what I was going to say to you

I said Darling,

Giving up is so hard to do

I thought about it and I can’t imagine me with out you

But I have to make some decisions now, decide what to do

I know It’s time that I leave you

Our relationship has come to an end and it’s time for me to start again

I can’t continue to look in your eyes and lie

I can’t continue to say I love you

When I don’t

When I won’t

Any longer take the time

Or give up that space which is mine

Turn my head and pretend that I am blind

As if I didn’t see all the pain you caused me

All the Heartache and agony

Mishaps and tragedy

I’m sorry

Take me backs

It won’t happen again

And here we are finally,

Finally at the end

You may laugh but

I rehearsed those lines over and over and over and over and over again

And still now that you’re here I don’t know where to begin

It’s like I’m drawn to you like a moth to a flame

I allow my self to be burned knowing that things never change

And by some mishap of nature I begin to let myself feel through the pain

In that tiny spot of my heart that does truly belong to you

No matter what you do, where you are, or who you screw

I don’t know what it is

Maybe I’m not prepared to lose you

Maybe I’m afraid to be alone

Maybe I’ll miss you

But you can’t chalk it up to stupidity

Because I know that this road leads

To the same fork in the road

That led me to this fork

That keeps in the middle of the fork in the road

Not knowing where to turn or where to go

But

Surely you can understand

Surely you know it’s true

That giving up is easy

It’s letting go that so hard to do

Deceit

I talked with her on the phone
About tales of deceit posed upon
Grafitti laced bridges and ragged truck beds

Each word she sang made me cry out in shame
Like iinvisable criminals running from the law
I tried to hold it in but I know she heard

And I lied when she asked
I lied when she told
I lied when she thought

I loved him and I didn't know why
After all the things she said I couldn't let him go
And now there's a baby and a daddy's maybe
