(Love) Telling

To my dearest, to my darling, to my Christine
    Bessie Tovey,
When you heard the love dreams calling, did you
    know I was he?

Like blossoms that grow in silver gardens, their beauty
    reminds me of you,
The pearls of all the oceans, could not shine like
the love of you I do.

A dreaming pleasure that never ceases, like a sparkling
    river over a waterfall,
The nature of thoughtfulness, you give to your family
to share for one and all.

The flush of nature on your cheeks, like the roses
    that bloom in spring,
My heart beats a rhythm, when you show love
    is a many splendid thing.

When life has dealt it's fury, and the pain subsides
    for you at last,
There becomes a special blend of love, as we advance
    from the past.

Life becomes a special meaning, when I see a smile
    upon your face,
When I see your pleasures, my anger just disappears
    without a trace.

If life becomes an eternity, then I would want to
    spend it all with you,
To have, to hold and to love, but most of all to help
    you see it through.

As the months turn to years and our lives become aged,
and all our thoughts become old,
In my heart my love for you, will always remain
    warm and never grow cold.

Through fire and brimstone, through all of heaven
    and through all of hell,
Through the hours of light or darkness our love will
remain, or whatever the future could foretell.

The thoughts I whisper to you in secret, are soft and
gentle as the Bronze wing dove,
These words you may never hear, but it is you
Christine Bessie Tovey that I love.

Leaving (My Bonnie Back Home)    [Bal 6]

Far, across land; way across sea,
there lies, my Bonnie; she's waiting
        for me.

I'm longing for home; for her to see,
    I left, at home; all of her beauty;
        and went, across sea.

Way, above land; high, above sea,
    there lies my dreams, waiting,
        for me.

We sat, in the daises; I told her,
    I wanted to be,
Way over, the land; far over, the
    sea.

There was sadness, in her eyes; but
    she managed, a smile,
Then to the train; we lingered,
    awhile.

Then came, the time; she started, to
    cry,
I let go, her hand; we said, our
    goodbye.

Far over, the land; way, across the
    sea,
I know, my Bonnie; is waiting, for
    me.

I came, far over, the land; I came,
    way over, the sea,
Away from, my heart; and my
    longing ,to be.

And when, I return; I am going,
    to see,
Back where, my thoughts; are
   longing ,to be.

We'll meet at, the church; with our
    promise, to be.
Our yearning, to be over; for my
    Bonnie, and me.

Dedicated to Tom Scully and Ireland.
