for Laura...... then, now, always

must be in the 70's here today..........golden leaves and just a slight breeze

There's not a cloud in the sky, and not a single car has past the house in quite some time. This, the most perfect little house that ever was. Even the phone has stopped its ring ring, long enough to take notice of things outside. For lack of a better phrase........ a perfect moment in time.

For just a moment my minds eye turned and saw the face of someone from perfect moments gone by. And the scent of the past surrounded me.
I remembered the woman who first taught me to let down my guard, and open my senses so a moment such as this could be felt as well as seen. And I remembered watching her as she would drink it all in.
I remembered a time when magic was real, beauty was treasured, and pixie dust floated on the air.
It was just a fleeting moment. As it should be. Being that open is much to dangerous a place for a man to be for very long. His life can easily be taken from him during such times.
But I was alone today, and it was safe to be one with the world, and one with the past.
I wondered about her. Wondered where she is, and what perfect moment she was surrounded by now.

Then, like a whisper not so much heard, but sensed,

I knew.
Like when your lovers lips just barely brush against your ear as silently they form the words, "I love you".
I stepped back into myself, the moment itself already just a memory.

I knew she was gone, and she was everywhere, both at the same time. rod/02

and does she know the light she sees that fills the moonless sky, comes from deep within my heart to guide her as she flies?
