Far Kiss

Kiss of halves
what do they taste like?
She cooked me pasta
with green peas and sesame seeds;
what are those seeds for?
Make you feel the bird in a vein.
Then there was the soy sauce
not too salty, just like I like it,
just like I paint the whole dish.
Well, actually she did it,
must love me;
hard to understand
in this rain
that separates us.

Away, a lost, a long

Come to me God-willing,
you've let me under the sheets.
Come to me well-read
or burnt from many days.
In flesh or talk I will massage.
The blankets shiver when we're apart.
Come to me in lilac touching spring.
Come to me with honey hair.
Come to me bare or
in a business suit
unraveling
fiber by fiber
into bed.
Come to me as we begin,
but then again,
doesn't a relationship
always feel like it's beginning?
Only, as we age, the beginning has more string.
Come to me as antelope Egyptian nape.
Come to me as you strip,
a little too fast, self-conscious at first.
Come to me in petals
or gardens as you ask.
Come to me searching
or color me found.
