Come With Me, Love
Come with me, Love, so gently thru the mist
-- Our faithful ally, blacking out the light
From stars above -- to where we two once kissed
In secret on a kindred starless night
And there, beneath the branches of the willow
Keeping us lost to all the world -- we'll lie
In extasy -- a bed of moss our pillow!
A hidden chamber safe from ev'ry eye
Save of the Night-bird -- of the cricket-choir
-- The silent, sightless bat -- the firefly
Whose pulsing lamp speaks of a like desire
All but a portion of Night's tender charms
Yet I'll be conscious only of your arms
Drawing my naked body towards your own --
Enfolding me completely in such bliss
The like of which my heart has never known
But dreamt of daily since that one, sweet kiss
Beneath the willow tree so long ago
So soft my darling, come away with me
To lie in Love until the first cock's crow
-- To where our pining spirits will be free
To roam, enrapt'd, the realms of reverie
Faces of Time
This fleeting moment which we two now share
However fleeting shall forever live
Transfixed within th'entablatures of Time
Thus coupled with the spell your glance has cast
Enthralling mine, I doubly am transfixed
While in your eyne I watch Time's mask dissolve
And Time is ours!
Then let me take your hand that we might touch
And in so doing touch Eternity
Then let me hold you that we might embrace
Forever, 'tho with Time's next face we part
Your Being within this moment shall remain
Embracing mine throughout a timeless Age
