-- With the letters of your name,
    my life is written.

-- Love, like a river, must flow
freely; for to hold it back would
    surely alter its direction.

-- They say a rose portrays pure love.
But how unlike my love for you to
    wither and die.

-- Without your voice to shake the
    silence, I hear nothing.

The Candle

Flickering candle, your glow shows dancing upon the ceiling,
Your yellow hew spreads to the dark confines of my space.
Could it be that I am as you? Holding no warmth, no light, except that which is physical?
To be used, then put away until darkness falls again in her life?
Even if so, I will eagerly be so used.
I will wait to be of hers, a candle flame, a momentary light,
If no other use she may have for me.
