Here we stand, my beloved,
Trying to say goodnight,
Yet hoping the world will end
So there is no need.

If we should die right here
We will not have to part.
We will merely slip straight to eternity
To meet again in paradise.

So we kiss again,
Waiting for the earthquake.
The earthquake happens in our hearts
But we are still here, saying goodnight.

I pull away, stand back.
You do too, but before I can go
Your hand stops me
And my lips are again on yours.

Another kiss, another moment of bliss,
Another tormented thought
That says I must go
But want to stay and die.

Will it always be like this,
This parting of lovers, so hard
To do, so sad, so just not right?
Say "No," my darling,

Say "There will be no partings soon"
Say "I will be with you forever
And you with me
And our love will always be."

Today

Today is not a day to write.
Nothing comes to me,
the way it usually does -
bubbling up in my head,
demanding to be put on paper.
No, it is not a day to write.

Why, I ask myself,
is the well dry?
Why are the words so scarce?
Why is the muse absent today?
What is different in me?
Has my creativity fled?
Oh, but you did not come today,
my love, my precious one,
my inspiration and my delight.
You did not look at me and smile,
touch my hand and sigh.
You did not kiss me with your eyes.

So I had nothing to write,
no tender word to report to the page,
no shared look to excite me,
no moment of utter bliss to inspire me.
Just another day of waiting
for the clock to get done with her work.

If..

If I hold my hands
softly against my face
and close my eyes
and breath slowly
I can almost feel you near
I can almost hear you speak
I can nearly be with you
and still the longing for a moment.
But still I must be, and still stay
For if I suddenly look up,
I see the empty room
and know the empty space where you should be
and I'm alone again
and you're not here with me.

Kisses

Honey chocolate kisses
bursting like airy bubbles in
my mouth, so addictive,
I need more and more and more.

Never did I taste a kiss like yours,
never did I need to dream of kisses.
But yours have set me all aglow
so for your kiss I cannot let you go.

You'll have to stay
and let me taste some more,
each kiss a dainty morsel,
each better than before.

Each kiss a little bit
of heaven in my mouth.
I long for every kiss of yours.
I treasure every sip
of your sweet mouth
upon my tongue,
lets kiss again,
our kissing's not yet done.
