The Trowel

The sky is black
Like the letter you wrote
Clouds loom
Twisting fate

Hard earth ungiving I wait
I must find you
My love my pain
Let it rain

The soil I turn
Love...yours is not there
When will I learn
I never learn
When will I learn

Always I yearn
Frantic you are mine
Your absence always what I find
I Keep working
I pray for your return

Clouds burst all around
Rain begins to fall
Unleashed tears
An angel that calls

"I am not coming back
Please do not worry
Do not look for me in the ground
It is your heart you must bury"

Earth gives way
Damp with tears not rain
I plead, cry out your name
A rose wilts for my shame

Gently I place my heart in the ground
With my hands I cover
My fingers bleed
For love knows no other

With the letter
The pain you wrote
Along with my trowel
My heart is broke

Broken Airways

Your voice I did not hear today
And for a moment I felt
Anger grief fear
Lovely voice you were not near

Your voice I did not hear today
Your voice not always
Anguished love tears
Sick starved bereaved

Your Voice I did not hear today
Still life hurt and flower seed
Play a tiny song for me...life
I need, always I will need

Your voice I did not hear today
Garden of weeds
Sweet music and roses
The only things I need
One day I will see

Roses bloom in spring
No pedals of hate or indifference show
I cannot hate nor love
My garden needs to grow

Don't hate me I shall be but alone
Feel nothing my ocean far away
It shall splash anger fear and stones
For I did not hear your voice today
