Lover's Moon

Walking barefoot in the sand
Along the edge of the waves of the high tide.
Holding hands or arm in arm
Really did not matter, as long as we were side by side.

Smell of the ocean, sounds of the rolling waves
Surf lapping at our feet.
We stand looking at each other's face
Memorizing and reflecting the emotions we see until we again meet.

Feelings swelling like the surf
Emotions here and there, like the beach full of seashells.
I look at you, you look at me
Reading each other's faces, stories they did tell.

The clouds churn like the butterflies in our stomachs
The thunder roaring like our hearts tunes.
The having to end all too quickly
And just for us, peeking through the clouds, the face of a full lover's moon.

You Fill My Senses

I saw it in the way you moved,
I felt it in the air,
I heard it in the things you didn't say,
What we had was no longer there.

Every where I looked, I saw you,
Every thing I touched, I felt you,
Every sound I heard, I heard you,
My senses were filled with you.

I smelled your cologne lingering,
I touched where you once laid,
I heard the deafening silence,
I knew the moment your love began to fade.

Every where I looked, I saw you,
Every thing I touched, I felt you,
Every sound I heard, I heard you,
My senses were filled with you.

I heard my heart pounding,
I felt the crushing aghast,
I saw you walking away,
At that moment, we became the past.

Every where I look, you are gone,
Every thing I touch is like stone,
Every sound I hear brings sorrow,
Even still, my senses you own.

It Wasn't Enough

Slowly sinking to my knees,
Head hanging low in despair .
My mind tormented...
As it goes along memory's lane,
In your eyes I once saw
All the joys and happiness of love,
The passion only two can share.
Yet it wasn't enough.
Sighing heavily...
My journey continues,
Through your hands I felt
Tenderness, warmth and protection,
The security that you'd always be there.
Still, it wasn't enough.
Shoulders sagging...
I tread on,
In your voice I heard,
Promises and dreams for tomorrow,
Sweet words of love and I love you.
But it wasn't enough.
Crumbling to the floor...
Tears of defeat,
Too tired to fight anymore,
Too exhausted to even try.
Finally seeing it can be true,
Sometimes love is just not enough.
