I reply to my lover, my heart
As I await this tedious day's end.
I fill my thoughts with moments.
A smile, a touch, a soulful kiss.
Guilt of a wastrel of a bank of time
That I will not see again.
But my lover, my heart
Steals my consciousness
Return to me from this weary day
Bring the light and warmth to my lover’s arms.
Erase the colorlessness of the landscape
Bite back the cold shadows of the day
Revel in the comfort of our smiling hearts
Our battle-scarred souls complete
And home again
