I Had A Dream

I had a dream
that saved my tortured soul
I found a refuge there
in the arms of an angel


I had a dream
that a kindred spirit I found
in a friend I held dear
In a friend I'll always love


My dream was perfect
as dreams should be
I found inspiration there
to persevere


My dream was fleeting
like a delicate flame
Stolen by a morning breeze
it ended, as it began, in an instant


While I'm awake
I'll live every day as if it were my last
When I sleep
I'll yearn to dream this dream once more...

My Confused Soul

My confused soul stumbles about
endless questions frenzy in my tired mind
rest eludes me


The place I want most to be
is guarded by my own defense
though weakening


When my resolve has waned
my wits numbed
I'll accept defeat of one kind
and welcome the peace that love brings

Ode to an Angel

Her breath is sweet
it carries soft words to my heart
Her smile complete
atop such sensual lips
where kisses long to start


A trueness in her eyes
her gaze speaks volumes
Warmth surrounds her
irresistible to share
it's where I want to be


Her body draws mine near
our senses intertwine
I surrender to my mate
instantly, easily she takes my love
There until an end to time.

Slap in the Face

A sting that burns
and will not leave
Nor do I want it to


A pain so deep
my blood flows through it
No words can tell


To know the truth
leaves little faith
My heart is deaf and dumb


Shattered trust
she left me cold
Confused, I walk alone
