Shadows On The Wall
Candles burning in the night
Adding to the firelight.
Feel the warmth of pine logs glowing
O'er the sheepskin rug is throwing.
Feel the soft fur on your skin
Passion stirring deep within,
Casting shadows on the wall
With your lover's rise and fall.
Silently the night drifts by
The only sound, your loving sigh.
This moment is our night of bliss
While shadows on the wall do kiss.
In time the morning starts anew
With early sky of azure blue.
No more the candles burning bright
Or flicker of the firelight.
Now blanket drawn across the lovers
The warmth of this long night to cover.
And as the sun lights dale and stream
Their passion sleeps, perchance to dream.
Destiny
It was written in the stars,
Right across the universe
It was etched into my heart,
And in every poem’s verse.
It was told in stories long ago,
Of a destiny so true.
That my love was meant for only one,
And that only one was you.
Time
If I could turn back time,
And do it all again,
The sun would shine for us once more
And clouds would never rain.
To walk in meadows through the grass,
And poppy heads aflame,
The clouds would form a smiling face,
And the birds would sing your name.
Though time would pass by once again,
And you would have to part,
I'd love you as I do right now,
As though this was the start.
The Dream
I woke last night to midnight gloom,
A street light barely lit the room.
I glanced the soft skin of your arm,
And felt the warmness of your palm.
I kissed you softly on the shoulder,
My lips wishing to be bolder.
You breathed a sigh and turned to me,
Your angel face brought joy to see.
And moving further down the bed,
Upon your breast I placed my head.
Then sleep came swiftly until dawn,
When I awoke to face the morn.
Realizing this was just a dream,
I felt contentment so serene.
Then looking at the pillow case,
Where I had dreamed your angel face.
A shock ran down me head to feet,
For knowingly my eyes did meet,
A lipstick stain upon the sheet.
Sailing
My heart is sailing, never failing,
O'er the ocean blue,
Searching for my lover’s shoreline;
Seeking only you.
To shelter from love's stormy seas,
To anchor on your beach,
My heart is sailing, never failing,
For your love to reach.
Senses
I see you in the fire's flames,
I see you in the clouds.
I see you in a picture frame,
I see you in a crowd.
I see you in the mist at dawn,
I see you in a stream.
I see you in a pattern drawn,
I see you in my dreams.
I see you everywhere I look,
While we are far apart.
But my senses are most comforted,
When I feel you in my heart.
Vision of Beauty
There's a painting in a gallery
And a Venus made of clay.
There's a sunrise on a mountain
You can see at break of day.
There's a flower in a garden
And a moonbeam through the clouds.
There's a rainbow ‘neath a waterfall
And a songbird oh so loud.
The beauty of these things I see
Are real enough and true.
But their beauty cannot ever be
As beautiful...as you.
