The PW Review is currently inviting submissions from poets.
This is currently a quarterly publication.
We welcome poetry of all styles. Free verse as well as rhymed structures are welcome although we hope rhymed submissions will be well structured with due regard for meter.
If you are making or have made submissions of the same work elsewhere we shall be grateful if you will advise us of the details. We will not automatically reject work that has been submitted elsewhere but our emphasis is on work not available elsewhere.
Submissions should be made by way of e-mail (no attachments please) and be a maximum of 250 lines. We will consider work of greater length but would welcome more detail of the nature of such work prior to sending.
Articles germane to poetry will also be welcomed. We have in mind especially: writing, publishing, critique theory but will be glad to consider articles on any other facet of poetry.
We will particularly welcome group submissions from schools. We are anxious to encourage both enjoyment of reading and writing in young people. Teachers please write ahead of sending work giving details so that we may agree the best format for despatching to us.
Please ensure that you provide us with some personal details. Remember, the whole point is to publicise you and your work! Copyright remains with the author at all times.
Presentation helps and we recommend the use of a spell checker to avoid typos or spelling errors (In case you think you have spotted any here...Chesil is English and uses English rather than American spelling!)
Regrettably, we are not able currently to accept non English submissions as we have insufficient language skills. If there are lovers of poetry out there who would be willing to assist by being prepared to read a language for us and provide a reasoned view as to the quality of the work, we want to hear from you!
Finally, it is inevitable that some work will not be accepted. The reasons will be legion and not confined to writing quality alone. We know that a rejection slip hurts but also that there is no easy way to let people down. We will not enter into correspondence, however, and the editors decision is final.
